Riley the Black-Nosed Puppy

Riley (wondering whose idea it was to make him wear antlers)

This entry is written with apologies to Robert May, the advertising executive who wrote “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” He wrote it as a poem for a department-store Santa to give to children. Within its first year of publication, over 2 million copies had been given away to children. The poem was later set to music and recorded in 1949 by Gene Autry.

Riley received his name precisely because he lives “the life of Riley.” One of his co-dependent “Pamperers in Chief” says, “How can such an adorable little face hide such a Jekyll & Hyde dog?” If Riley could talk (or blog) we’d hear HIS side of the story.
